I really just need new wheels, the ones I have are pretty shot, just quite as bad as those above. I might even just get new skates since right now I'm rocking a $40 pair from Target and they have a pretty flimsy frame and hard wheels which makes tricks difficult and I vibrate when going across rough asphalt. Not pleasant. Ohh maybe some skates like these... I'm off to day dream. (;

I like to skate
Yesterday my boyfriend, Kh, and I rotated the wheels on our rollerblades. Neither one of us has a car so we use our skates almost exclusively to get around town and we can be pretty hard on our skates- especially him since he's always trying to grind or do tricks. In the rotation we each had to lose a wheel because it was so ground down. Here is a comparison:

CopyCat-ing: Lightening Bolts
Over the weekend, my friend Seventeen came over to my house to share cocktails and let me do her nails. I opened up my nail inspiration board on pinterest and told her to pick a photo, that I would do my best to copy it. She immediately chose lightening bolt nails which I was super happy about since I've wanted to try them soon anyway.

Loving It: Bronze Eyeliner
I have a really low-key day job with long hours so I don't always feel the need to wear a full face of makeup to work- in fact I often do super quick looks so I have more time in the morning to enjoy my coffee, catch up on txts, and watch King of the Hill.
One of my recent go-to looks in a time pinch is bronze eyeliner, it just makes my blue eyes pop! and it's pretty much impossible to do wrong.
What is your favourite eyeliner for an on-the-fly look?
I used:
- Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner Baked
- NYX mascara
- Urban Decay Bust [eyebrows]

Look at what I made!
I am so, so, soooo excited about this makeup caddy I made out of left over pieces of foam core held together with hot glue. I'm slowly running out of storage space for my makeup and polish collections so it's time to get creative!
This one is for lipsticks, lip glosses, lip liners, lip samples, lip balm, stain, and mascaras. It looks a little sparse now but I can see it being full soon. I need to re-measure and cut about an inch off the top so it will fit into my bathroom drawer (lesson learned: measure first, then assemble).

What have you made lately?

Why Hello, Beautiful
Oh hai! And welcome to my creative space. My name is Pixel and I love to play dress up. I'm a freelance makeup artist and nail enthusiast with a passion for all things pretty. I am a firm believer in D.I.Y. projects and customization. I love, love, love King of the Hill, mermaids, and roller blades.
Whew now that that's over let me grab a cup of coffee and show off my nails...
